ABOUT THIS PROJECT
As my final project at Foundation, I decided to look at how people interact with their food as my research topic. This pizza bed below was inspired greatly by Fine Artist Claes Oldenburg, by his large scale sculptural pieces of food. Humour was also an important element which I added to my works, as I want people to assoicate my work with positive feelings.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Everybody loves food - it gives you comfort and emotional support when you are feeling low. To express that idea, I came up with the thought of creating a large scale Pizza bed out of soft cotton fabric. Through this piece, people are able to interact with it by laying on it or sleeping (anything you wish to do!) so that they can physically feel how good it is when they consume comfort foods such as Pizza.
